Well, you can fry in just about anything as I have over the years. The key, of course, is maintaining the oil temp throughout the process. That’s what makes this fryer do what it’s supposed to do so well. It is well made & the drainage feature is worth the price alone. If you just don’t overfill the oil (I put it in the middle between low & high), and use common sense, you will have no issues. Basically, it will pay for itself in saved oil in a year or so. Do yourself a favor……buy it

The Food Saver vacum attatchment for regular mouth mason jars works suprisingly well. I have been using it for a few weeks now and every jar was sealed on the first attempt. It reduces the pressure in the jar enough that I can’t remove the lid without a knife or fork to pry on it. This is good and bad. Good in that it reduces the pressure considerably. Bad in that it takes a little work to get it off. I also question the longevity of the rubber seal on the inside. In my experience they deterierate or dry out if you don’t put some lubricant on it every once in a while. However, for the price I am very pleased.

Works on first attempts

Cons:
Seal good enough I need to pry lid off
Longevity of rubber seal questionable

These spoons are great for party appetizers and right sized desserts. They are reasonably proced, come well packed snug in a small box and are wrapped very well.

I first use these spoons when hosting a wine party at home for a lot of friends. For dessert, I made Creme Brulee in a huge baking dish and once set, I scooped them into 100 of the spoons. I topped them with sugar and broiled them to get that nice crunchy top. I received so many rave reviews, you would have thought I was a miracle worker.

I was impressed that they withstood the torture of the broiler and my wine loving friends. They also cleaned up pretty easily considering they had molten lava sugar on them. I soaked them in some bleachy water while I did the rest of my clean-up. They all came perfectly clean.

I also now use them for my take-out Won Ton Soup or Pho. The metal spoon just doesn’t feel right when you have these so readily available.

I continue to search for new creative recipes and uses for these spoons. They are a great party hit. Hmmm… maybe Jello Shots!
